Coworkers,

First of all, THANKS to all who arranged their summer schedules
to serve our Lord's youth at ToLBC. It was a worthwhile week around the
Word. We hope your spirit has drawn satisfaction from the time and effort
you invested as members of the family of God.

Camp Staff Personnel and board members met Sunday afternoon to
consider oral reports and suggestions and to review camper and staff
evaluation forms. In short, we thanked God for a great week He granted us,
largely thru the willingness and work of the staff members He prompted to
volunteer.

Such review brings out again that the responsibility of working
with children away from home 24/7 is not easy. There are some tensions and
frustrations, but we have reason to trust that campers grow in realizing our
Lord's claim on their hearts and lives.

A recurring note on Sunday was recognition of the admirable
cohesion and cooperation evident among this year's seniors. Really
gratifying.

Review of a tally of all campers' evaluation forms, as expected,
turns up a wide range of conflicting opinions and reactions and
recommendations regarding various activities. The most telling statistic:
Of 69 camper forms returned, 3 indicated they do not want to come back next
year.

As always, we took note of suggestions for how some aspects of
camp week might be improved. In a future meeting these will be evaluated for
possible planning or policy changes It's not too late to send in any
suggestions you want discussed. They can be sent to Steve Pechin or Tim
Mann. If you don't have their addresses, send them to me, and I will forward
them.

Date of camp week: There were several suggestions that ToLBC be
planned for earlier in the summer. The Board plans a.) to inquire if there
is any possibility. And b.) if there is a possibility, to do a survey of
congregations' recommendations and preferences.

Five instructors have indicated an interest in serving again
next year, so anyone who desires this opportunity needs to get on the list.
We will need to be thinking about aims and objectives and plan for next
year's study. Your suggestions are welcome. Give it some thought. . I
would be glad to hear from any or all of you.

Please share the info in this e-mail with others who might be interested for
next year.

Blessings as you press on in your life as servants of our returning Lord,

Pastor Bob Hochmnth
